CHICAGO Central House is always in the spotlight of metropolitan life. For two consecutive years now, we have been supporting holding of Ukrainian Fashion Week. This year Fashion House No. 1 became the primary sponsor of the fashion shoe of Ukrainian designer Kristina Bobkova.
The bobkova brand has been constantly participating in Ukrainian Fashion Week since 1998. The show bobkova FW 18/19 took place in the Mystetskyi Arsenal National Art and Culture Museum Complex on the 5th of February. The designer was inspired by the process of outfitting a new area for her studio, therefore, a fashion collection is full of details, associated with construction and repair.
The collection is mainly designed in black, white and grey colours, as well as mazarine and dirty pink. Graphic sack dresses, formal and at the same time feminine suits, masculine jackets and waistcoats combined with knee high boots and gloves were presented at the show.
Checkered elements are allusion to wire mesh and reinforcement. Huge pockets alike to those on vintage boilersuits decorate almost all elements of the collection: mackintoshes, coats, trousers, dresses and bucket bags. Pattern cutting of shoes is pretty similar to shoe covers, and gold and silver accessories, made by Serhii Zhernovyi, are shaped into structural beams.
The models walked the runways against a backdrop of an art collage developed by the director of the show Nadiia Pozharska. In the design of the podium she harmoniously combined the images of a frontage of the CHICAGO Central House, elements of a glass cube and attributes of repair, namely rammed concrete and paints.
The show was attended by the star guests: Katia Osadcha, Aliona Shoptenko, Tonia Matviienko, Arsen Mirzorian, Vlada Ralko, Valentyna Khamaiko, Olha Shurova, Olimpia Whitemustache, Iryna Turbaiievska, Oleksandra Oliinyk. Such titles as Vogue, Jetsetter, Marie Claire, Cosmopolitan and others wrote about the event.
